An Exciting Update
Dear Community,
For the past three years, the Historic Downtown Snohomish Association (HDSA) has been honored to host and support Snohomish Pride. HDSA believes deeply in the importance of creating a joyful, inclusive celebration that uplifts and affirms our LGBTQ+ community, and we are incredibly proud of how Pride has grown and flourished.

HDSA’s mission, guided by the Main Street model, is focused on the vitality of the downtown Snohomish historic district — supporting local businesses, preserving historic character, and fostering a welcoming, community centered downtown. Our values of inclusion and community connection are core to this work and strongly align with the spirit and goals of Snohomish Pride.
At the same time, HDSA’s downtown focused mission naturally limits the scope of our impact beyond the district and requires us to balance resources across multiple programs. As Snohomish Pride has grown, it has become clear that its long term vision and full potential would be best supported by an organization whose sole focus is serving the LGBTQ+ community — not only through Pride, but through year round advocacy, programming, and connection across the broader Snohomish area.
The Snohomish Pride Planning Committee and HDSA leadership have mutually decided that the mission of Pride would be best supported under a new 501(c)(3): Out in Snohomish. This new nonprofit has been created by members of the Snohomish Pride Planning Committee who shared the desire to expand the reach outside of the scope of HDSA, and is specifically focused on supporting and uplifting the Snohomish LGBTQ+ community. While Snohomish Pride will now be stewarded by Out in Snohomish, the heart of Pride remains the same. This transition reflects growth, sustainability, and a shared commitment to ensuring Pride can continue to expand its reach, deepen community impact, and create welcoming spaces for all. HDSA remains a proud supporter and partner of Snohomish Pride and Out in Snohomish, and we look forward to continued collaboration that strengthens both our downtown and our wider community.
If you have questions or would like to learn more about this transition, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are grateful for your continued support and engagement.
With Appreciation,
HDSA Leadership
